A $48,000 contract increase with Bituminous Roadways for Hot Mix Asphalt was forwarded without recommendation. Council members, particularly Council Member Chavez, expressed concerns about environmental harm in the area and expressed interest in looking into ways to address this issue in the future. The City Attorney’s Office suggested that altering drafts of future RFPs (Requests for Proposal) to address those issues was one potential pathway.
Several legal settlements were postponed to the December 4th meeting when staff could be present for questions.
There was a presentation and discussion about item 18, Reallocation of American Rescue Plan Act funds within the Community Planning & Economic Development department. Item was moved with approval.
There was a presentation & discussion about item 19, Contract with New York University through the NYU School of Law’s Reimagining Public Safety Policing Project for implementation of the Safe and Thriving Communities Report. The $1 million contract was approved unanimously.
