NOTICE CHICAGO BOARD OF EDUCATION WHOLE CHILD COMMITTEE MEETING January 23, 2020 Amy Rome, Chair Enclosed is a copy of the Agenda for the Whole Child Committee meeting to be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at Englewood STEM High School, 6835 S Normal Blvd in the Cafeteria, 1st floor. Registration will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the site of the meeting. Parking is available in the parking lot to the west of the building. Enter through door three (3) on the west side of the building. The Public Participation segment of the meeting will begin after the Discussion section and conclude after twenty (20) minutes or until the last speaker has presented, whichever occurs first. Each speaker will have two (2) minutes each to present their remarks. For members of the public who wish to submit written comments, these can be submitted at the Committee Meeting, via email at BOEWCC@cps.edu, or 1 N. Dearborn, Suite 950. Written comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., January 28, 2020.

The Chicago Board of Education is charged with governing the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), setting policies, governing operations, and charting the direction of current and future programs.

A list of board members (with headshots) is here. Board members are currently appointed by the mayor. In 2021, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a bill into law that will gradually transition to a 21-member elected school board over the course of 2024-2027.
