Mayor Brandon Johnson has called the meeting to order. With 43 members present, quorum is met and public comment begins.

So far, comments have all focused on concerns over a homeless encampment at Gompers Park. Public commenters have claimed incidents involving indecent exposure to children, drug paraphernalia on baseball diamonds and human feces on park grounds.

The next commenters, representatives from the Active Transportation Alliance and Better Streets Chicago, ask for support on the ordinance to lower the city’s default speed limit to 25 mph.

Meeting moves into the resolutions and honorary acknowledgements portion.

At 12:40, the meeting moved into the reports and communications from the Mayor.
