Peckinpaugh explains the new inclining block rate, where past a certain threshold of water usage, a customer rate will increase. He says “over 70 percent of residential customers will see a decrease in the total water bill”. https://t.co/aLERLXp2YA
Now the Lifeline Pilot Plan. Peckinpaugh mentions that “water affordability advocates say there’s a burden to household income if their [monthly] water bill is more than 1.8 percent of the average household income.” https://t.co/Mn46Ukrjs0
Peckinpaugh talks about the three tiers of monthly bills for Lifeline Plan customers. These estimates are for the first 4,500 gallons. He says 72 percent of their residential customers use 4,500 gallons or less per month. https://t.co/04MCiuLvcA
