There are two speakers from the public today. The first speaker is George Blakemore.

Today, the issue he wants to talk about is the number of Black workers employed by the city. Further, he criticizes having two meetings at the same time.

Next speaker is Melvin Bailey. He also would like to see more minority employment on city projects. He urges reduction of vacant lots to better the city while also employing members of the community.

Ald Sigcho-Lopez says they will follow up with Mr. Bailey after the meeting.

TYPO IN AGENDA: it is NOT $39.5m, it is $93.5m

Bill Higgins is testifying on behalf of CDOT. This acquisition is vital to progress of the project referred to in the agenda.

The acquisition is completely contained in the 34th ward (Ald William Conway)

Mr. Higgins is using a powerpoint, but it is not being broadcast online.

This bridge project will provide a vital viaduct for the area. This project is already TIF approved.

Ald Hoppenworth (48) says that Ald Conway has submitted a letter of approval. She asks if the lots in the proposed acquisition are currently developed; they are not.
