You have the option to document this set of monthly Chicago Housing Authority meetings remotely or in person.

If you choose to document remotely, the meeting will be live-streamed on the Chicago Housing Authority’s Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/ChiHousingAuthority/videos. The live stream should appear at that link, at the top of the feed, though it may not appear until at or a few minutes after the scheduled start time. If you don’t see it right away, wait a few moments and try refreshing the page.

If you choose to attend in person, an additional hour will be added to your pay for this assignment. As of this writing, in-person attendance is limited and requires advance registration (more details at this link). Be aware that many government buildings require you to show photo ID and/or go through a metal detector.

The meeting schedule:

  • 8:30 a.m.: Board Meeting Public Hearing
  • 9:00 a.m.: Finance & Audit Committee (Closed Session)
  • 9:10 a.m.: Finance & Audit Committee (Business Session and Public Hearing)

  • 9:30 a.m.: Tenant Services Committee (Business Session and Public Hearing)
  • 9:40 a.m. Board Meeting Business Session

Under the Open Meetings Act (OMA), the board may discuss confidential or sensitive matters in closed session, out of public view, but it must return to open session in order to make any votes or officially adjourn the meeting.

The meeting duration varies but usually wraps up between noon and 1 p.m. We recommend that you stay on the livestream until the meeting officially ends, if possible.
